Make 2023 your best year yet…

2023 is fast approaching and we really hope you are starting to think about your goals for next year.

If you are… here are some easy tools to support you on your journey of personal growth.

  1. Write your goals down

This is something we really believe in. We write our goals down everywhere. In our Semester Student Planner. On our whiteboard in the office. On our phones. Writing them down regularly gives us a constant reminder of what we are working towards. They serve as a constant guide to ensure we are on the right track.

2.Understand why you want to achieve your goals

What motivates you? Why is this goal important? Is this goal truly for you or is it for someone else? Rank your motivations. The Semester Student Planner comes with a tool to help you understand your motivations. It is really important. When you know why you want to achieve something it can serve as fuel to making it happen.

3.What milestones do you have to pass ?

You need to set milestones on the way to achieving your goals. Without milestones how can you track how you are doing?

If you think about a dissertation project. It’s going to take chunks of different milestones on the way to completing the full project. If you can measure such milestones you can track your progress and see how you are doing.

Anything which can be measured can be improved. The Semester Student Planner is kitted with a habit tracker as well as regular weekly reviews so you can reflect on your current progress. You can make changes if you need to. You can figure out what is working.

4.How will you celebrate your goal?

This is something we truly believe in too. We are all for setting goals and working towards our future and we are constantly look forwards towards the next challenge once we have achieved a goal (progress = happiness).  However, we need reward ourselves for our wins too. How are you going to celebrate your achievements?

You can even reward yourself with the little wins on the way. The semester student planner has a ‘daily wins’ section and this is all designed to get you focusing on the good.

Enjoy the process or working towards your goals. Enjoy the whole journey. Then once complete, reward yourself for your hard work.

A full template of our goal setting page can be found within the Semester Student Planner as well as many other tools to support you on your journey of personal growth. Goal setting is an imperative part of personal growth and wellbeing. Should you want to make 2023 a great year then you should really consider how goal setting can help you!

“If you’re bored with life – you don’t get up every morning with a burning desire to do things – you don’t have enough goals.” –Lou Holtz
